Yeah! A Rainy Day!

It looks like I'll be able to stay home today and vegetate. The ground will enjoy the moisture because everything is so dry, although it might make the grass grow again just when I was enjoying the slowdown and getting other things done that have been neglected since spring.
It's the last day of the month and couldn't have come soon enough because this was a big spending month. The quarterly taxes and getting the boys neutered happened so I was out of money a week ago, then I got 3 early checks in the nick of time. I was paid early because a few of my accounts were going on vacation and would be gone on the first so that was a relief.
My pup got stung on the head Sunday night by an insect and by morning half her face was swollen and she had welts all over her body. I got the first appt. in the morning at the vets and he gave her a shot and some pills to take home. It's always one thing or another so I can contribute to my vets income every month. At least I still get a check from him every month also, for my services.
I asked my daughter a few days ago if she was happy. She seemed so down lately. I asked if she would tell me if it was anything I did. She said she wanted to know why I didn't want her working with me all of a sudden. She said I shouldn't keep paying her for doing nothing. I said she wasn't doing nothing with all that she was doing around here, keeping the house clean, working in the yard, keeping everything watered, doing the laundry, and being here with the dogs so they don't get bored and tear up the house. Since I could care less about the house after working all day, it was good someone was doing it. I also felt she really didn't want to work since she couldn't get going early enough for me. Besides, now that she's pregnant, I'd rather she take care of herself and not stress about anything. I plan to make sure she's as happy as can be so her unborn baby will benefit from it all.
Now "they" are saying to eat more carbs and eat those breads. I'm not going for it because I'm finally losing after dropping the yeast breads. I'll go back after I reach my goal. Til then, "Let's All Dance!"

The Good News

I can't hold it any longer, my youngest daughter is pregnant. It will be the first baby born in almost 20 years in our family. I think I might be more excited than she is although that might not be true. She has been wanting to start a family for sometime now and I think she got pregnant as soom as she got rid of all the stress in her life. Her friends and their dramatic lives had her really stressed out. She finally just told them she needed a break from them and the next thing we knew, she got pregnant.
Planned Parenthood verified the E.P.T. tests, on Friday. She is having the midwife deliver it since she has known her for the last 20 years. Her boyfriend is very excited also. Let's All Dance" to celebrate!

It Was Probably The Mexican Food!

At least that's what I'm telling myself. I'm 2 pounds heavier today. I need to start weighing myself just once a week because I go up and down all week. We were celebrating some wonderful news but I'm sworn to secrecy, and I ordered super nachos and ate the whole plate. They aren't a dish you can take home in a doggie bag because they don't re-heat very well, so I felt obligated to clean my plate.
I also bought a loaf of the seeded sourdough because I missed it so much. If I make it to the store today I'd better pick up another loaf of the Ezekial bread and freeze the rest of the other.
I was sitting at my desk last week and saw a guy stop at the end of my driveway in a red car with a camera and he started taking pictures of my house. As soon as he saw me come out the door he started driving away until I yelled at him, "why are you taking pictures of my house?" He stopped and told me the mortgage company asked him to do it. I'm sure it was because I told them I was going to put it up for sale last month. I went back into the house and then the guy came back and gave me a piece of paper with the phone number of the Homeowner's Assistance Program. I called them this morning and told them I wasn't going to sell my home and I started sending in bigger payments to start covering what I owe them. Maybe now they will stop calling me every day without leaving a message. If they can't leave a message when they call, I'm not calling them back.
My mama bully just went out of heat. It wasn't easy keeping the boys away from her and her away from them. She was constantly putting her butt in their faces. Now I'll probably have to wait until next summer to breed her again because if I do on the next heat I'll be in the busiest time of the year for my work. Maybe the economy will pick up and more people will be able to afford them next year, although I didn't try very hard to sell him. Gotta get to work before the heat drives me back home, so "Let's All Dance", every day!

Still Loosing!

Giving up the wine and bloody mary's has definitely got me loosing again but yesterday I heard on the Today show, the most sodium in a product is yeast breads. I'm pretty sure the bread my friend makes for the stores and what I've been eating for years, is a yeast bread. I should ask her how much salt is in there but my daughter mentioned we should start eating ezekial bread anyway. I'm sure that's not the right spelling but oh well. A few years ago, that's the only bread I ate until I switched slowly to my friends oganic bread.
The main thing I have to do is to stop eating so much of any one thing. I made some air-popped popcorn yesterday and used a half cup or kernels and it made so much it was over-flowing the bowl but I managed to eat it all before the day was over, with lots of butter, of course. Do I really have to give up the butter too? My old hair dresser said she lost all her weight when she finally switched to "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter!" She was also doing 500 crunches, twice a day, but I get plenty of exercise every day, so I 'm not going for the crunches.
Well it's not raining anymore so I'd better get in the shower, then go to work, but first, "Let's All Dance!"

Waiting For The World To Change!

It's drizzling this morning so I'm killing time until we can go to work. I'm looking forward to a few cooler days this weekend.
Yesterday, my niece finally emailed me back with excuses as to why the kids felt they could trash the rock house. She admitted she told them not to mess with it but says they heard it would be torn down anyway, so that's why they kicked it in. No one there would have said it was going to be torn down, and why is it okay for them to even mess with it when they were told not to.
I'm going to have to get over my disappointment of their actions, but I still think they need some consequences.
I really don't want there to be any fights among our family but I think it's time for us all to get a grip.
No more excuses, just do it, get over it, stop slowly killing yourself, cut loose anyone who is pulling you down with them, even your so called best friends who continue to dump on you and take, take, take. When you finally voice your opinion about their behavior and say you want to work on your own life, they say a real friend stands by you no matter what. There just has to be a point when you can no longer get sucked into their drama.
My brother is now having to wear a wrist band and not leave the house until his court date, so apparently he's been in trouble again. I just can't condone his behavior. I've been around addicts all my life, whether it was drugs or alcohol or both, and won't be around it anymore.
It's not that I never did anything wrong or have never taken anything that's bad for me but there's a time when we have to grow up and start thinking of someone other than yourself.
I was looking forward to having the family all together, but when I saw he was just on another prescribed medication, I'm assuming it was prescribed or he had been drinking, but I felt let down again. If and when he's ever off all the drugs and alcohol, I'll welcome him back into my arms, but I doubt that will happen before he destroys himself. What a way to waste your life away. You're not going to be able to take back all those years but you can change the rest of your life.
This wasn't a very uplifting blog but I just felt it needed to be said again. "Let's All Dance" anyway.

I've Finally Gotta Grip!

I'm waiting for the fog to lift so I can get to work. I could go anyway but I think I'll catch up on things instead. Yesterday stayed hazy all day but it's because of the fires in Canada. The shadows on the ground looked very weird. The sun only broke through the smoke a few times creating orange shadows.
I'm headed back down the scale again. Since I've given up all things bad for me, the only thing left was my wine and Bloody Mary's (in the summer). As soon as I stopped drinking, I noticed my waist start to get smaller.
I haven't felt that I could say anything to my brother about his problems, since I was still drinking everyday. The only differences is the amount I consumed which is way less than he does and I'm not addicted to anything and never have been. My daughter and I didn't miss the wine with dinner or the Bloody Mary's on hot days. I did find a bottle of wine on the front seat of my truck with my check taped to it from the manager of the winery I mow, so we had to drink it to get rid of it, but now we are back to business and just having water with dinner.
He had such a great chance after going through detox, to quit drinking but as soon as he was able, he went right back to doing it. I'm sure he never felt he could stop, he just went through the motions for the courts.
He made it to his neices birthday but thought it was my birthday which was 5 months ago. I could tell he was on some heavy drugs but I'm sure it was prescribed by whatever doctor he's seeing now. He even gave my daughter a fifth of Patron after he was told whose birthday it was. He went to his car to get it, so I'm thinking he bought it for himself.
A friend of mine who is also a bulldog lover, told me her husband's doctor walks into the exam room with a prescription pad and asks "What can I get you?" Look what the doctors did to Michael Jackson.
The doctors should be prosecuted the same as the heroin dealers for getting people hooked on addictive drugs.
He's had to stay loaded for years because he can't deal with his past and the doctors have made it possible for him to stay numb to reality. He just can't focus on the now, instead he's drowning in the past.
Now I'm disappointed in the behavior of my niece's son and his friends. While they spent the weekend at my oldest daughter's house, the hoodlums trashed the rock house by kicking in a couple of rows of rocks off the top and broke more of the roof off, beams, and took the door off it's hinges. I'm suggesting consequences for their actions, like having to scoop a week's worth of horse poop out of all 7 pastures. My niece hasn't responded yet from my suggestion in an email to her with a video of the damage to the rock house. I'm sure she thinks it's none of my business but I have to be reminded of it everytime I'm there.
The fog has lifted but the sun is still hidden so I might as well get busy. First I have to make an appointment to get the boys neutered at Oasis, across the Sound. But first, "Let's All Dance."
