Hooray! The Snow Is Almost Gone.

I finally made it out of my driveway although I had to put it into 4WD to get out, only to find that my hill was the only bad spot left. I even made it to my biggest account, the one that's the farthest away. I was afraid of what I'd find, thinking the driveway must have had a ton of snow and with the drain at the bottom I feared it would have been covered over and the water might have flooded the garage, but thankfully there wasn't a bit of snow on the driveway, only a lot of branches that must have come down during that last storm we had. I was able to get most of the driveway blown before I ran out of gas. The beaver at the lake has also been very busy so I had to spend some time clearing his dam away from the overflow. The lake is about 5 inches higher than normal with all the melted snow runoff and his little dam so I'm glad I was finally able to deal with it.
The sore I get every few years on my face has popped out again. I'm beginning to believe it comes whenever I get totally stressed out like I was after finding baby Berta dead. I couldn't stop crying for 2 days and I still just need to think of her and the tears will come easily but at least now I can go shopping at the grocery store without crying everytime someone tells me how sorry they are.
I'm using the $70.00 ointment I had to get for my husband for the sore on his leg. Medicare wouldn't cover it but would pay for the tubes of the cheap stuff even though they don't work. How much sense does that make? Friends of Home Health came to the rescue and paid for it, thank goodness for them. So I hope it works for my face too.

Merry Christmas to all

My husbands favorite checker at the store told me to keep my eyes open to anything that was unusual or out of place here in the house after he died. One morning during my dancing workout I danced into the living room and all the throw rugs were messed up so I straightened them and danced back into the bedroom. The next time I danced my way through the house, the rugs were messed up again and all the dogs were still snoozing. Whenever he would walk through the house, if any throw rug was mussed up he'd start moving it around with his cane, getting pissed if he had to bend over to fix it. I think he hated those rugs for fear of tripping and falling because of them. I can't help thinking about the rugs because that was what my baby Berta chocked to death on.
Everytime she was out of my sight I'd find her chewing on those rugs and everything but didn't know she was actually swallowing what she was ripping apart. Maybe it was ment to be a warning to get rid of them, who knows. I only let her walk around outside a few times because she would root around like a little pig eating whatever was on the ground. Even with the snow on the ground she'd push it out of the way to get to the goodies under it. But then I also have had the feeling that he took her from me, saying that he tried to warm me, but I wasn't listening, and maybe he needed her more than me. Our daughter told me to stop blaming myself and that it happened for a reason so I'm going to try and find that reason. I'm still going to put together her video of each day of her 3 month life. I think the New Year will make up for the crappy end of 2008.
I was actually thinking this was the first Christmas that I hadn't been stressed out at this time of the year. That's what I get for thinking.
I hope my whole family and friends have a wonderful day and a great New Year. I love you all.

Good-bye My Baby Berta

I can't possibly tell each and every one of you, so here is a sad note to all. I found Berta dead this morning. She had chocked to death in the middle of the night. I took her to the vet to find out what happened and they found a bunch of carpet fibers stuck in her throat. I should have spent more time with her teaching her not to chew up everything in her path. It was a very hard lesson to learn and she will be dearly missed. Please don't call for a few days because I can't stop sobbing. I love you all.
Not dancing today.

Dear Mr. President

I heard Pamela Anderson wrote a letter to Obama, asking him to legalize marijuana and to castrate all child molesters. I saw a picture of Obama smoking a joint when he was in college so if anyone might change the law, he should since he knows how harmless it is. Alcohol and cigarettes cause way more damage than pot ever will. They should let people grow their own and give them business licenses just like they do for the winery's and tax them for their sales. There'd be no more trafficking of pot across the borders which could free up the law enforcement officers to deal with more important crimes, and it would also free up the jails and prisons if they released the people in there for just pot charges. and they could put those child molesters and perverts in there, after they castrate them, of course. Right On Pamela!!
So Pam, let me know if the President gets your letter and then tell me how you managed that. I'd like to just get Oprah, Ellen or Steve Ballmer to answer an email, let alone the President.

Hooray It's Snowing

At least I don't have to feel guilty for not working today. Freezing cold, and cold rain will also keep me home. I should check the beaver dam and demolish it because I'm sure he still works in the snow, but I'd have to walk down to the lake and I'm not into breaking a bone from slipping on the icy road.
I've been having a hard time getting the motivation to continue on my path. I'm feeling like Oprah right now, disgusted for gaining weight again and not having the will power to stop putting so many calories a day into my mouth. If I hadn't been laying around the house the last 3 months, maybe I wouldn't be back to 160 again.
I'm so glad Michelle won on the Biggest Loser last night. I was rootin' for her. They all really looked great and reminded me I've got to get serious or I'm going to have this 40 pound stomach until I die.
I've been stocking up on fudge and cookie ingredients so I can give something homemade to the kids but then maybe I shouldn't be around all those calories. Is it really possible to change your eating habits right before the holidays?
I see Oprah isn't starting until January to begin her Best Life so maybe I'll join her and see who can take it off the fastest.
