The Big 3 Auto Makers

They just sat and stared at the lawmakers who said "Shame on you for coming here in your corporate jets to beg for money." They went away without the promises for help and I feel good about that.
I watched a DVD the other day called "Who Killed The Electric Car". I'd suggest anyone in support of the bailout, should watch that movie and then make your decision on the subject. If they won't offer an electric alternative to those who want it then I change my mind about buying American cars.
Mini Cooper has just come out with an electric car and I can just imagine how fast they will sell.
It's all about money with them, not about what's best for the environment. As long as they can keep us dependent on foreign oil they'll keep doing it if we let them.

Auto Industry Bailout

I still don't think the taxpayers should bail out the auto industry. Let's try this instead. How about if we stop buying foreign autos for a year and only buy American cars. If we have enough money to buy a new car in the first place then maybe we should be supporting American made cars. For those of us who really can't afford to buy a new car, even buying a used American made car would help the situation. The auto industry really needs to produce a car that's more competitive in the world market, not sitting around crying that they will go bankrupt if we don't bail them out, while the big boys are walking away with their bonuses.

More Ways To Change The World

Here's another Steve, How about we stop providing aid to all countries who continue to be a threat to us. We state our provisions for continued aid and if they can't go along with the program, we stop all trade, funneling money into their country, and we pull all our military out.
Let's also get back to the fair trade agreement. We trade fairly with all, not buy all their products without them buying back from us. Fair trade, get it? We could buy only American made products until the fair trade agreements are honored.
Our auto industry shouldn't be bailed out again either. They should provide the consumer with affordable electric or hybrid transportation so we can break our dependence from foriegn oil. Look how fast the prices came down as soon as we cut back from consuming so much.

Hi again Steve Ballmer

I thought I'd share with you some more ways I've imagined about changing the world.
For everyone that commutes every day to an office to sit in front of a computer for 8 hours, how about tele-commuting. Just think about how many people would be off the freeways, our traffic mess would be resolved. As long as you can still maintain the same quality of work, why not do it at home. They could save so much money on clothes, gas, car repairs, food, and even child care. The community center could be the help that's needed to care for the children while their parents work from home. Without the worry of child care you'd be free to do your best work.
Your company has made it possible to be able to do just that. The employers would have instant access to their employees with all the technology that's available.
I'd also bring home our soldiers and put them into all the empty foreclosed houses and give them low interest government backed loans for a period of three to five years at which time they'd have to refinance with another lender.
The government shouldn't be bailing out the mortgage companies, they should be directly helping the citizens. I bought my home 22 years ago with the help from FMHA, a government backed low interest loan. When I had to refinance to pay off mounting credit card debt, about 7 years later, FMHA doubled their money from the original investment. I think that makes more sense than bailing out the guys who are expecting their yearly bonuses in the millions.
Adjustable rate mortgages should also be done away with. The interest rate has dropped 6 times this year, twice in the month of October, but last week I got a letter saying my payment will be going up at the first of the year because of the current index value based on the Wall Street Journal six month libor. Whatever the hell that means. Somethings just not right with how they figure that.

The Election

It's almost over, hooray! I'm so glad there won't be any more ads on the television from any of the politicians. If they could just state what they were going to do for our country instead of spending all that money just to bash the other guy, I think it would make these elections more tolerable.
I miss your smiling face Tim Russert. Let's All Dance!!
