It's Cooling Down

I'm going to be liking the weather this week or at least the next few days, cloudy and cool. It's been very hot this week so working hasn't been all that much fun, but more fun than my oldest son has had for 5 days. He's in the hospital waiting for his second surgery to repair 2 more broken bones in his ankle. The deer he hit on his crotch rocket, just after leaving for work and the first ferry, died next to him in the middle of the road, while he was waiting to be helped off the road. "They" say it will be a 6 month recovery. He's ticked off the most by only being able to jet-ski twice so far this year. I'm just so thankful this state has a helmet law because it saved his life.
I'm also glad he has great insurance because I heard the helicopter ride to the hospital is $10,000, not to mention the surgeries he'll be having. Even though I think the insurance industry is such a big rip-off, there has been a few instances where we'd be screwed without it.
Michaels' memorial service will be tomorrow. The scalpers are already selling their free tickets for $15,000. My kids probably think I'm a bit "Wacko" because I've always loved and admired Michael and his music. It was in the hospital where I heard the first joke about Michael since his death. It went like this, " When Farrah got to heaven, God asked her what she wished for the world. She said that she wished that all children would be safe from harm, so God killed Michael." I didn't laugh, I just said "poor Michael." I think that everyone who thought he was guilty of molesting those boys are going to see that it was never true.

What Was I Thinking?

I thought that since it's was 10 years ago when I tried to get my community moving to the beat, and no one was interested, maybe they would be now. Afterall, Ellen has people waiting 2 years just to get tickets for her show so they can dance in her audience for an hour. We have "So You Think You Can Dance", "Dancing With The Stars", and now "Dance Your Ass Off". So why not here?
I guess I should have let the whole community know but I felt it was time for me to give back to the less fortunate. I just concentrated on the food bank patrons. I felt they could use a free hour of moving to the beat. No one responded to the flyers that were there when they came for their food. I thought I'd try a letter to the editor so more people would know about it but then I remembered about needing to wear a bra so I gave up trying to convince people that it's the best thing they could do for their body. I'm just not putting on a bra no matter what. I found out why the ladies didn't show up from my community. One ladies husband died suddenly that morning, the same morning of Farrah Fawcet and Michael Jackson's passing.
I'm 63 years old and mow lawns for a living. If I didn't dance every morning for at least an hour I wouldn't be able to make it through the day.
So I won't try again to convince anyone, I'll just do it myself every morning and if you want to do something good for your body, you should too.
I've been dancing all week to Michael Jackson's 145 songs, in his honor. I'll miss his talent.
